George A. Mandelaris, DDS, MS, is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a fellow in both the American and International College of Dentists. He has published more than 40 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and has authored eleven chapters in nine different textbooks. Dr Mandelaris is coeditor of Surgically Facilitated Orthodontic Therapy: An Interdisciplinary Approach (Springer, 2022) and serves as an editorial consultant for The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. He is a two-time recipient of the American Academy of Periodontology’s Clinical Research Award and the 2018 recipient of the Saul Schluger Memorial Award for Clinical Excellence in Diagnosis and Treatment Planning. Dr Mandelaris maintains a private practice in Chicago, Illinois.
Daniele Manfredini received his DDS from the University of Pisa, Italy in 1999, a MSc in Occlusion and Craniomandibular Disorders in 2001 from the same University, a PhD in Dentistry from the ACTA Amsterdam, The Netherlands, in 2011, and a Post-Graduation Specialty in Orthodontics from the University of Ferrara, Italy, in 2017. He achieved the Diplomate Status from the American Academy of Orofacial Pain in 2021. He was a clinical fellow at the Section of Prosthetic Dentistry, Department of Neuroscience, University of Pisa, Italy until 2005. From 2006 to 2016, Daniele Manfredini has been Assistant Professor at the School of Dentistry and coordinator of the research projects at the TMD Clinic, Department of Maxillofacial Surgery, University of Padova, Italy. Since 2017, Daniele Manfredini has held teachings in Oral Physiology and in Clinical Gnathology at the School of Dentistry, University of Siena, Italy. On January 2017, the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MIUR) appointed him as a Full Professor at the age of 41. Daniele Manfredini authored more than 230 papers in the field of bruxism and temporomandibular disorders in journals indexed in the Medline database (Scopus H-index=49). He also edited, among the others, the book “Current concepts on temporomandibular disorders” (Quintessence Publishing, 2010), including contributions from 45 world-renowned experts, and co-authored several textbooks on the same topics. Based on publication ratings, in November 2013, the US agency Expertscape ranked Daniele Manfredini as world #1 expert in the field of temporomandibular joint disorders, and, in November 2018, also as #1 in the field of bruxism. From then on, Daniele Manfredini has always been classified within the top three experts in both conditions. Since 2018, Daniele Manfredini is Member and Coordinator of the Bruxism Consensus Panel within the International Association for Dental Research, which works on the updated definition and classification strategies for bruxism.
Prof Francesco Mannocci (MD, DDS, PhD, FHEA) is a Specialist in Endodontics and Restorative Dentistry. He obtained his MD (Pisa, Italy, 1986) and DDS (Pisa, 1990) in Italy, and his PhD in Clinical Dentistry from King's College London in 2001. After having worked in private practice in Pisa for 18 years while collaborating with the University of Siena as a Visiting Professor he became Lecturer in Endodontology at King's College London in 2004, Senior Lecturer/Honorary Consultant in 2006, Head of Endodontology in 2008, and Professor of Endodontology at King’s College London in 2011. Prof Mannocci has authored more than130 papers in international peer reviewed journals. Prof Mannocci is Associate Editor of the International Endodontic Journal. Prof Mannocci has done research work on subjects including restoration of endodontically treated teeth, instrumentation techniques, dental anatomy, histology, endodontic radiology and endodontic microbiology.

Prof. Hesham Marei is a Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He graduated at Cairo University in 1997, and then received his Master and Doctoral Degrees in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Suez Canal University, Egypt. Dr. Marei has completed his clinical oral and maxillofacial surgery training at Cardiff Dental School, UK and obtained his Fellowship in Dental Surgery in 2006 from the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
Moreover, Dr. Marei has a passion in medical education. Such passion derived him to obtain another Master’s Degree in Medical Education in 2012 and a PhD in the Health Professions Education in 2018 at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. Dr. Marei PhD thesis is about the use of computer simulation in dental education.
Before moving to UAE, Dr. Marei has taken different academic and clinical positions in UK, Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Dr. Marei last position was Associate Professor and Consultant of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, where he was awarded the best medical teacher for his academic excellence. In research, Dr. Marei has over 35 publications in internationally recognized journal and his research focus is on the applications of 3D printing technology in dentistry, the effect of chemotherapy on bone healing, osseointegration of dental implants, use of virtual patients in dental education and medical professionalism. Dr. Marei has actively contributed with presentations, workshops and courses in both specialties at several national and international events in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, Pakistan, the Netherlands, UK and USA.

Robert E. Marx, Leiter der Abteilung Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery der Miller School of Medicine, University of Miami, ist ein anerkannter Kliniker, Wissenschaftler und Lehrer. William E. Mason, DDS, MS, received his DDS and MS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 1981 and 1984, respectively, and has since managed a private practice specializing in periodontics and dental implants. Since 1991, he has placed over 5,000 dental implants. Dr Mason teaches periodontal residents as a member of the Dean’s Faculty in the Graduate Periodontics Clinic at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and regularly demonstrates surgery to the dental hygiene students at Delta College. Dr Mason has presented lectures to numerous dental societies throughout Michigan and has published articles in several professional journals. He has also developed three dental instruments and patented one of these—the Palatal Anesthesia Device (PAD)—to help alleviate the pain of palatal injections.
