Matthias Tröltzsch is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery and a Fellow of the European Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Head and Neck Surgery (FEBOMFS). He also holds the additional qualification “Plastic Surgery.” Together with his brother, he runs the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Ansbach, Germany. He habilitated at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich, where he holds a lectureship. He lectures and publishes widely, particularly in the fields of antiresorptives and oncology as well as at the interface between medicine and dentistry.
Markus Tröltzsch is a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery. He worked as a senior physician at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University Medical Center in Göttingen, Germany, and now runs the Center for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in Ansbach together with his brother. He is active in various specialist societies, is chairman of the Academy of Practice and Science (APW) of the DGZMK, and lectures and publishes frequently, particularly in the field of augmentation surgery and at the interface between medicine and dentistry.
Leonardo Trombelli is a full professor and chair of the Department of Periodontology, School of Dentistry at the University of Ferrara. He has served as the director of the Research Center for the Study of Periodontal and Peri-implant Diseases at the University of Ferrara and the director of the Dental Clinic, University Hospital, Ferrara. He has been the dean of the Dental School at the University of Ferrara since 2013. He also served as the president of the Medical School at the University of Ferrara from 2014 to 2016. Past president of the SIO from 2007 to 2009. Dr Trombelli is an active member of SIdP and an editorial board member for the Journal of Clinical Periodontology.
Dr. Yosuke Tsukiboshi attended DDS program at Tohoku University in Sendai, Japan, completing the degree in 2013. Then, he entered an orthodontic residency program as well as a PhD program at Osaka University in Osaka, Japan. After finishing the programs in 2020, he trained as a preceptor at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene until 2021. He works at Tsukiboshi Dental Clinic as a JOS board-certified orthodontist, a director of Japanese Society of Dental Traumatology and Autotransplantation, and a lecturer of CE seminar (Digital dentistry, periodontal surgery, and orthodontics).
Dr. Taisuke Tsukiboshi received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the Aichi-Gakuin University School of Dentistry in Nagoya, Japan and his PhD in Prosthodontics from Osaka University Japan. He has also completed a Fellowship in Implant Dentistry from the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry. He is currently in clinical practice at the Tsukiboshi Dental Clinic in Aichi, Japan, while also holding the position of Instructor for Internship Students at the Osaka University, School of Dentistry. He is an Associate Fellow of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and is also an Official Instructor for Bassi Logic.
Dr. Tsukiboshi is a graduate of Osaka University School of Dentistry in 1977. He earned a PhD in dental materials from Kyoto University in 1981 and has been engaged in private practice since 1981. Dr. Tsukiboshi's interest in dental traumatology and autotransplantation has led to extensive clinical involvement, course presentations and publications. Dr. Tsukiboshi has lectured extensively on dental trauma and autotransplantation; he has authored many articles and two textbooks, one on dental trauma in 1998 and one on autotransplantation in 2000. The books have been published in several languages, including English. Dr. Tsukiboshi is is the President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology in 2009 and 2010. Dr. Tsukiboshi is certified as a clinical professor of the dental school of Tohoku University in 2015 to 2018.
Dr. Jochen Tunkel completed five years of training in periodontology, graduating as a specialist in periodontology (German Fachzahnarzt). He then moved to Professor Khoury's clinic, where he completed his training as an oral surgery specialist (German Fachzahnarzt) and Master of Oral Medicine in Implantology. During his 3-year postgraduate program he learned the shell technique in detail. During this time, his also focused on soft tissue management for large augmentations and implant-augmentative rehabilitation of periodontally severely compromised patients. After opening his own practice in 2007, he focused his work on the further development of the shell technique. To this end, he initially conducted work on augmentative relining with Dr. Luca de Stavola. Since 2018, he has been working intensively on the allogeneic shell techniqueand has helped it to achieve a breakthrough. In particular, he has focused on the basic principles of allogeneic and autologous shell techniques that improve the success of these methods.
Jens Christoph Türp, DDS, Dr Med Dent, MSc, MA, is a professor in the Department of Oral Health and Medicine, Division of Temporomandibular Disorders and Orofacial Pain, University of Basel Center for Dental Medicine, Basel, Switzerland.

Dr. med. dent. Ulrike Uhlmann studied dentistry at the University of Leipzig and completed her doctorate at the Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz. She specializes in pediatric and adolescent dentistry and works in a family dental practice near Leipzig. As a mother of four children, she was personally confronted with the topic of oral restrictions for the first time when her first daughter was born in 2013. After her first parental leave, she began to deal more intensively with the topic professionally and completed further training with Dr. Zaghi and Dr. Ghaheri, among others. As interdisciplinary collaboration between speech therapists, midwives, and myofunctional therapists has always been a key aspect of her professional approach, the idea for this book was born of both a personal and professional passion. Dr. Uhlmann is an active member of the Leipzig Tongue Tie Network and works as an author and speaker alongside her work in practice.
Istvan Urban, DMD, MD, PhD, teaches implant dentistry in the graduate program at Loma Linda University in California and is also an adjunct clinical associate professor in the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan. He has published widely on bone regeneration and soft tissue reconstructive surgery around dental implants and is the author of the textbooks Vertical and Horizontal Ridge Augmentation: New Perspectives (Quintessence, 2017) and Vertical 2: The Next Level of Hard and Soft Tissue Augmentation (2022). Dr Urban is licensed in the state of California and maintains a private practice in Budapest, Hungary.
