Amar Naru is a practitioner in private practice and involved in postgraduate occlusion teaching. His PhD Digital image analysis of the human bite mark has contributed significantly to forensic dentistry. In this book, his skills in digital illustration and computer animation combine to aid the understanding of otherwise difficult concepts within dentistry.

Dr. José Manuel Navarro received a Certificate in Periodontology and Implant dentistry after completing a 3-year program at New York University College of Dentistry (Chairman Dennis Tarnow). He was also awarded a Master of Science degree in Biomaterials from NYUCD for his research on high strength ceramics (Chairman Van Thompson). Dr. Navarro has received awards for his research from different societies, including the Academy of Osseointegration (AO) best presentation award in 2007 and the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) Research Award in 2011. He has co- authored several peer- reviewed publications and book chapters and is Co-Editor of the book “High Strength Ceramics”. Dr. Navarro is on the editorial board of the European Journal of Esthetic Dentistry (EJED) the International Journal of Oral Implantology (IJOI) and is editor in Chief of Quintessence International in Spanish. He is past chairman of the European Association for Osseointegration (EAO) Junior Committee and is visiting faculty at different universities. He currently maintains a private practice focused on periodontics, prosthodontics and implant dentistry in Spain and London.

Prof. Nebe has been Head of the Cell Biology Department at Rostock University Medical Center since 2013. Her research focuses on cell-biological aspects of biosystem-material interaction, cellular acceptance of plasma-chemically and topographically modified biomaterials, regulation of cell physiology in three-dimensional implant scaffolds and the cell-structure-cell function relationship, cellular adhesion.

In 2009, became a specialist in Orthodontics. 2009-2015: Senior physician at the Clinic for Orthodontics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. In 2015, completed his habilitation on "Stability of orthodontic mini-implants during the healing phase" and was appointed as a private lecturer. In 2015, employed at the orthodontic practice Dr. Ludwig/Dr. Glasl in Traben-Trarbach. Since 2016, operating his own practice in Düsseldorf; external staff member of the Clinic for Orthodontics at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. Since 12/2012, member of the scientific advisory board of the journal "Orthodontics" (Quintessenz Publishing). Since 02/2015, co-editor of "IOK - Information from Orthodontics & Orthopedics" (Thieme). National and international activities as a reviewer and speaker. Research focuses: Skeletal anchoring and biomechanics.

Aside from biological dentistry and oral health in general, his other passions include functional medicine, holistic nutrition, and competitive sports. He trains traditional dentists in biological dentistry and believes that all health starts in the mouth.

Francis Nohl is a Consultant in Restorative Dentistry. He is a Specialist Trainer in Prosthodontics and leads the dental implant team at Newcastle Dental Hospital. In addition he is Degree Programme Director for the Postgraduate Diploma in Dental Implantology. He has an MSc in Conservative Dentistry from the Eastman Dental Institute UK.
