Paolo Pera, MD, DDS, PhD, graduated in medicine from the University of Turin, Italy in 1975. Professor Pera was a former postgraduate student of Professor Giulio Preti and specialized in dentistry in the University of Turin in 1979. Since 1980, he collaborated with the clinical, teaching, and research activity of the Prosthodontics Department of Turin University. He lectured as assistant professor at many Universities in Italy and abroad. In 1997 Professor Pera became a full professor of prosthodontics at the University of Genoa, Italy. Past president of the Italian Society of Prosthetic and Implant-Prosthetic Dentistry and of the Dental Hygiene School of the University of Genoa. Professor Pera currently heads the Department of Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry of Genoa University. He has published many papers in Italian and international journals and university books text. Since 2004 Professor Pera has been a reviewer for the International Journal of Prosthodontic.

Giovanna Perrotti, DMD, is head of the Orthodontics and Children's Dentistry Unit at IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milan, Italy. She teaches advanced courses on oral implantology as well as contemporary rehabilitation and reconstructive jaw therapy at the University of Milan. Dr Perrotti has a degree in dentistry and dental prosthetics with a specialization in orthognatodontics. Author of scientific papers on orthodontics and dental diagnostics, she is a member of the editorial boards of Quintessenza Internazionale, International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Implants, Dental Cadmos, and CAD-CAM Digital Dentistry and is the coauthor of two multimedia collections for Med Tutor Odontoiatria (Utet Scienze Mediche, 2008 and 2014).

Michael A. Pikos, DDS, is an adjunct assistant professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Ohio State University College of Dentistry and Nova Southeastern University College of Dental Medicine and a clinical associate professor at the Department of Periodontology and the Department of Prosthodontics at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He is the author of Bone Augmentation in Implant Dentistry (Quintessence, 2019), serves on the editorial boards of several journals, and has lectured extensively on dental implants in North and South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. Dr Pikos is the founder and CEO of the Pikos Institute and maintains a private practice limited to implant surgery in Trinity, Florida.

Prof Nelson R. Pinto is Professor in the Department of Periodontology and Implantology at Universidad de Los Andes in Santiago, Chile, and Founder of the Research Center for Regenerative Medicine and Tissue Engineering. He is visiting faculty in the Department of Periodontology at Catholic University of Leuven, Belgium, and in the Advanced Education Program in Implant Dentistry at Loma Linda University in California. His main accomplishment is the development of Natural Guided Regeneration Therapy (NGRT), and his research in this area was recognized in 2012 by the World Union of Wound Healing Societies (WUWHS) and in 2016 with the Journal of Wound Care & WUWHS Award for Best Contribution to Clinical Research for 2012 to 2016. In 2018, he received the Punyaarjan Humanitarian Service Award for his professional dedication to chronic wound healing and helping change patients’ lives through NGRT.

Roberto Pistilli, MD, DDS, ist leitender Mund-Kiefer-Gesichtschirurg am San Camilo Folanini Hospital in Rom, Italien. Er leitet jährliche Kurse zur Untersuchung von Hals und Mundhöhle an der Universität Miguel Hernandez de Elche in Spanien und ist Lehrbeauftragter für Weiterbildungskurse an der Universität Bologna und der Universität Genua. Dr. Pistilli ist Mitglied zahlreicher Fachverbände und fungiert derzeit als Präsident der Römischen Akademie für Oralchirurgie und Implantologie, als Vizepräsident der Italienischen Akademie für Osseointegration und als Vizepräsident der Akademie für Knochen, Biomaterialien und mehr. Er ist Autor der zweibändigen Reihe Anatomia e chirurgia del cavo orale (EditaliaMedica, 2020 und 2022). Dr. Pistilli betreibt eine auf Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie spezialisierte Privatpraxis in Ladispoli, Italien.

Prof. Dr. Bjarni Pjetursson promovierte 1990 als Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) an der Universität von Island. Von 1990 bis 2000 arbeitete er als Allgemeinzahnarzt in seiner Privatklinik in Island. Im Jahr 2000 begann er seine postgraduale Ausbildung in Parodontologie und Implantologie an der Universität Bern, Schweiz. Er erhielt sein Fachzertifikat (EFP & SSP) und den Master of Advanced Studies in Parodontologie sowie den Doktortitel in Zahnmedizin von der medizinischen Fakultät der Universität Bern. Von 2003 bis 2005 absolvierte er seine postgraduale Ausbildung in Prothetik an der Universität Bern. Ab 2005 war er Assistenzprofessor und Senior Lecturer an der Abteilung für Parodontologie und festsitzende Prothetik der Universität Bern und war von 2009 bis 2014 Dekan der Fakultät für Zahnheilkunde der Universität von Island. Derzeit ist er Professor und Vorsitzender der Abteilung für rekonstruktive Zahnheilkunde an der Universität von Island und Titularprofessor an der Abteilung für festsitzende Prothetik und Biomaterialien an der Universität Genf, Schweiz. Prof. Dr. Pjetursson ist Vorstandsmitglied der EAO, ITI-Fellow, Mitherausgeber des International Journal of Prosthodontics und Mitglied des Redaktionsausschusses der Zeitschrift Clinical Oral Implants Research. Er hat umfangreich publiziert und über 700 Vorträge in 50 Ländern der Welt gehalten. Seine Forschungsinteressen sind klinische Studien in der Implantologie und die evidenzbasierte Bewertung verschiedener Behandlungsmodalitäten in der Implantologie und der prothetischen Zahnheilkunde.

Dr. Waldemar D. Polido is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon, with a MS and PhD from the PUCRS School of Dentistry in Porto Alegre, Brazil. He completed a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas. Dr. Polido is an engaged ITI Fellow, and has contributed as an author and co-author to the ITI Online Academy, Treatment Guides, Consensus Conferences and Forum Implantologicum, as well as lectured in several ITI national and international events. Dr. Polido co-authored the recently launched book SAC 2nd Edition - Risk Assessment in Implant Dentistry. His main professional interests are in advanced and complex implant surgeries, orthognathic surgery and digital technology. He is currently a Clinical Professor of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Co-Director of the Center for Implant, Esthetic and Innovative Dentistry, at the Indiana University School of Dentistry, in Indianapolis, USA.

Dr Massimiliano Politi, DMD, is an attending physician at the Orthognatodontics Unit of the Dental Clinic of the IRCCS Istituto Ortopedico Galeazzi in Milan, Italy and is completing a PhD in orthodontics from the University of Milan. Dr Politi devotes most of his time to research in the field of 3D diagnostics and maintains a private practice limited to orthodontics.

Dr. Oliver Pontius führt eine auf Endodontie spezialisierte Praxis in Bad Homburg, Deutschland. Er ist als Lehrbeauftragter am Postgraduierten-Endodontieprogramm der Universität Diderot, Paris VII, Frankreich, tätig. Dr. Pontius erwarb seinen Doktortitel in Zahnmedizin an der Universität Heidelberg, ein Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Endodontie und einen Master of Science in Endodontie an der Boston University. Er ist Mitglied des American Board of Endodontics, der American Association of Endodontists, der European Society of Endodontology und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Endodontie. Zudem ist er aktives Mitglied der European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr. Pontius hält weltweit Vorträge.
