The 38 procedures were divided into two groups: group 1, using piezoelectric surgery, and group 2, using rotary instruments. The piezoelectric surgery technique made it possible to introduce surgical modifications. An observation of bone regeneration and follow-up clinical observations 5 to 7 years after the procedure revealed that the piezoelectric surgery technique provides better and more predictable clinical results for bone regeneration.
