12th World Congress of Esthetic Dentistry – IFED 2022

Prof. Gil Alcoforado hat sein Leben der wissenschaftlichen Forschung auf dem Gebiet der Parodontologie und der Implantatrehabilitation gewidmet. Seine 35-jährige Karriere wurde durch mehrere Lehrtätigkeiten an einigen der renommiertesten Universitäten im zahnmedizinischen Bereich in Europa und den USA bereichert. Zudem hat er sich intensiv mit sozialem Unternehmertum und freiwilligem Engagement in der Mundpflege beschäftigt, indem er Kampagnen zur Mundhygieneaufklärung für Eltern und Kinder in Ländern durchgeführt hat, in denen Hilfe von größter Bedeutung ist. Im Jahr 1985 wurde Dr. Gil Alcoforado der erste Parodontologe in Portugal. Im selben Jahr trat er der Philip Dear Foundation bei und ist heute der Vorsitzende des International College of Dentists – Europäische Sektion. Er war auch der Gründer und ehemalige Präsident der Portugiesischen Gesellschaft für Parodontologie sowie ehemaliger Präsident der Europäischen Föderation für Parodontologie.

Graduated 1994 from Freie University Berlin, started his Doctoral Thesis in that year while attending private practice in Berlin. He also became Research and Clinical Assistant, Division of Esthetic and Computer Restorations (Prof. Dr. W. H. Mörmann), University of Zurich. Between 1994–2005 he attended his Postdoctoral program became Clinical Instructor and Lecturer in Computerized Restorative Dentistry, and Senior Research Fellow, Director Clinic of the Division of Esthetic and Computer Restorations, University of Zurich. In 2006 he was awarded Postdoctoral Lecture Qualification ("Habilitation", Venia Legendi), University of Zurich. Since 2007, Head of the Division of Esthetic and Computer Restorations, Part-time Faculty Member, Department of Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology & Cariology, Center for Dental and Oral Medicine, University of Zurich. His main interests are obviously CAD/CAM and all that entails, but also the application of this to Implants and 3D X-ray. He has lectured internationally and has authored many articles with regards to CAD/CAM.

Dr. Renato Cocconi ist ein Kieferorthopäde in Parma, Italien, wo er in einer Privatklinik arbeitet, die er zusammen mit Dr. Raffaini leitet. Dr. Cocconi absolvierte ein dreijähriges postgraduales Programm in Kieferorthopädie an der Abteilung für Kieferorthopädie der Universität Mailand, wo er 1993 seinen Masterabschluss erhielt. Anschließend verbrachte er 2,5 Jahre in den Vereinigten Staaten, wo er bei der L.F. Andrews Foundation arbeitete und von 1991 bis 1993 am Roth Williams postgradualen Kurs teilnahm. Seitdem ist Dr. Cocconi national und international sehr aktiv in der kieferorthopädischen Gemeinschaft. Seine Errungenschaften und Kooperationen weltweit umfassen die Arbeit mit Dr. Terry Tanaka an der USC, die Wahl in das Wissenschaftliche Komitee der Angle Society und unzählige Einladungen, international für Gruppen wie die Europäische Gesellschaft für Kieferorthopädie, AAO, die Amerikanische Akademie für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde, die Europäische Akademie für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde und das Welt-Kieferorthopädie-Treffen in London im September 2015 zu sprechen. Er war von 1993 bis 2008 klinischer Professor in der Abteilung für Kieferorthopädie der Universität Mailand. Derzeit ist Cocconi in vielen Organisationen aktiv, einschließlich der EOS, AAO, SIDO und der Angle Society of Europe. Er wird Teil des Europäischen Teams sein (zusammen mit Mauro Fradeani und Mirco Raffaini), das für das alle vier Jahre in Tegernsee, Deutschland, stattfindende Treffen "USA meets Europe" ausgewählt wurde, organisiert von der Seattle Study Group, DGAZ und AIOP.

Dr. Luca Cordaro ist Vorsitzender der Abteilung für Parodontologie und Prothetik am Eastman Dental Hospital in Rom. Er absolvierte sein Medizinstudium an der Universität Roma "La Sapienza", wo er auch einen Abschluss in Zahnmedizin erwarb. Er hält einen Doktortitel und ist ein zertifizierter Spezialist für Oralchirurgie. Zudem arbeitet er gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder in einer privaten Praxis, die 1957 von seinem Vater gegründet wurde. Dr. Cordaro ist Autor oder Mitautor von mehr als 70 in italienischen oder internationalen Zeitschriften veröffentlichten Artikeln und hat in Europa, Asien, Nord- und Südamerika Vorträge gehalten. Im Jahr 2007 gewann er den H. Goldman-Preis für klinische Forschung der Italienischen Gesellschaft für Parodontologie. Er ist Autor verschiedener Buchkapitel und Mitautor der Bücher "The SAC Classification in Implant Dentistry" und ITI Treatment Guide 7, veröffentlicht von Quintessence Publishing. Er ist aktives Mitglied der Italienischen Gesellschaft für Osseointegration und Fellow des ITI (International Team for Implantology). Im ITI ist er Mitglied des Vorstands, Vorsitzender des Study Club Committees und Vorsitzender für den italienischen Abschnitt. Er wurde 2010 in den Vorstand der EAO gewählt und dient als Vorsitzender des Kongresskomitees und Generalsekretär. Seine beruflichen Interessen sind Parodontologie, Implantologie und Oralchirurgie, mit einem besonderen Interesse an der rekonstruktiven Behandlung von Alveolaratrophien.

Dr. De Franco obtained a B.A. degree in Biochemistry from the University of Pennsylvania, a D.M.D. degree from the University of Connecticut, and the certificate in Orthodontics with a Doctorate of Medical Sciences degree in Oral Biology from Harvard University. He moved to Milan in 1992 where he has been working ever since in private practice limited to orthodontics. He is a Diplomate of ABO, EBO and IBO, and is presently the President of the European Board of Orthodontics. He is a member of AAO, EOS, Harvard Society for the Advancement of Orthodontics, SIDO, Italian Academy of Orthodontics, European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and the Eastern Component of the Angle Society. He was President of the Angle Society in 2018 and President of the Italian Academy of Orthodontics in 2021. He is a reviewer for several orthodontic journals.

Dr. Didier Dietschi erhielt seine Approbation 1984 und promovierte 1988 an der Universität Genf, Schweiz, wo 2004 auch die Berufung als Privatdozent folgte. 2003 erhielt er die Auszeichnung PhD an der University of ACTA, Niederlande. Nach einer 6-jährigen Vollzeit-Lehr- und Forschungstätigkeit in der Operativen Zahnmedizin und Parodontologie begann er eine Teilzeittätigkeit in einer Privatpraxis in Genf, deren Schwerpunkt auf der ästhetischen restaurativen Zahnmedizin liegt. Heute ist er außerordentlicher Professor an der CASE Western University (USA) und Senior Dozent an der Universität Genf. Dr. Dietschi hat über 100 klinische und wissenschaftliche Arbeiten und Buchkapitel zu adhäsiven und ästhetischen Restaurationen veröffentlicht. Er ist Co-Autor des Buches „Adhesive Metal-free Restorations“, das 1997 von Quintessenz herausgegeben und in sieben Sprachen übersetzt wurde. Dr. Dietschi ist international anerkannt für seine theoretischen und praktischen Lehrveranstaltungen zu adhäsiven und ästhetischen Restaurationen.

ZTM Fehmer ist Fellow des International Team for Implantology (ITI), aktives Mitglied der European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) und Mitglied der Oral Design Group, der European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) und der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde (DGÄZ). Er ist als Referent auf nationaler und internationaler Ebene tätig, hat über 50 Artikel in Peer-Reviewed Journals veröffentlicht und ist Autor diverser Buchbeiträge. Er ist Editor-in-Chief des International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry und des QDT-Yearbooks, das er seit 2023 publiziert.

Dr. Gracis studierte in den USA, wo er zunächst an der University of Pennsylvania einen D.M.D.-Abschluss und anschließend an der University of Washington ein Master of Science in der Prothetik erwarb. 1990 kehrte er nach Mailand zurück und arbeitet seither in einer Privatpraxis, die sich auf Prothetik und restaurative Zahnheilkunde spezialisiert hat. Er ist aktives Mitglied der Italian Academy of Prosthetic Dentistry, deren Präsident er in den Jahren 2007-2008 war, und der European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, deren Präsident er in der Amtszeit 2016-2018 war. Er ist Mitglied des Redaktionsbeirats des International Journal of Esthetic Dentistry und des International Journal of Prosthodontics.

A former Professor of Advanced Orthodontics at the University of Southern California. Dr. Grauer is a Board Certified Orthodontist who has trained extensively in dentistry and orthodontics in both Europe and the United States. Dr. Grauer first received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery, Master’s of Orthodontics, and Specialty Certificate of Orthodontics from the University of Barcelona. He then came to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for continued training, where he received his Master’s of Science, Specialty Certificate of Orthodontics, DDS, and PhD in Oral Biology. He completed a post-doctoral fellowship at UNC, where he still serves as an Adjunct Professor. Dr. Grauer is an associate editor for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and sits on the editorial boards of several other professional publications. A well-known and respected researcher, he lectures at meetings nationally and internationally and provides lingual orthodontic services in practices around the world.

Sonia Leziy received her dental degree from McGill University. Her post-graduate degree in periodontics was completed at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Dr. Leziy is a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada, a Fellow of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a member of the British Columbia Society of Periodontists, the Canadian Academy of Periodontists, the American Academy of Periodontists and the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED). She co-mentors the Vancouver Implant Periodontal and Prosthetic Study Group (VIP) which focuses on total treatment solutions from diagnosis to final restoration. Dr. Leziy is a member of the editorial boards of the Journals Spectrum Dialogue, the Journal of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and the Journal Teamwork. She has been recognized among the top clinicians in CE in North America for the last 6 years by Dentistry Today. She has published extensively on implant esthetics and more recently co-authored two textbooks on Interdisciplinary Treatment published by Quintessence and a third Esthetics in Dentistry Wiley, Blackwell. She lectures nationally and internationally on the subject of implants and advanced esthetics/periodontal plastic surgery and digital workflows.

Dr. Feng Liu received his Master’s degree of prosthodontics from Peking University School of Stomatology in 1996. He majors on esthetic prosthodontics, dental implantology, CAD/CAM restorative dentistry, dental photography, et al. He has published 17 books as chief editor in the field of esthetic dentistry.

Baldwin Marchack is a 1971 graduate of the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC. In 1989 he received his MBA from the Anderson Graduate School of Management at UCLA. He is a Fellow of the American College of Dentists, a Fellow of the International College of Dentists, and a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy. Dr Marchack is a member of the Academy of Prosthodontics, the International College of Prosthodontists and the Academy of Osseointegration; and he is past-president of the American Prosthodontic Society, past-president of the Pacific Coast Society for Prosthodontics and past-president of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry and the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry. Dr Marchack is a former Examiner for the California State Board of Dental Examiners, and he is an Honorary Member of the American College of Prosthodontists. He serves on the Board of Councilors for the Ostrow School of Dentistry of USC and is the Course Director for the USC Esthetic Dentistry Training Program in Hong Kong and course director for the USC Comprehensive Surgical and Restorative Implant Dentistry Training Program in Hong Kong. He has served as Chair of the Editorial Council for the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, and he maintains a private practice in Pasadena, California.

Dr. Mintrone started his activity as a dental technician and then specialized as a ceramist in fixed prosthesis. After graduating in dentistry with honors from the University of Modena, Italy, he attended several courses on prosthetic dentistry and implant surgery. Dr. Mintrone is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED). He is the winner of the 2011 and 2012 editions of the gIDE institute’s Master Clinician in Implant Dentistry. He has authored several articles published in international scientific magazines and lectures nationally and internationally on topics related to digital dentistry, implants and prosthodontics. In his private practise in Modena, Italy, Dr. Mintrone focuses his professional activity mainly on esthetics, prosthetic rehabilitation on implants and natural dentition.

Dr. Robert Relle is an American Board-Certified oral and maxillofacial surgeon whose Century City, California practice is limited to orthognathic and reconstructive jaw surgery. He is a graduate of Indiana University School of Dentistry, and received his specialty certification at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles. He has completed over 4,000 orthognathic surgery cases. Dr. Relle co-chairs the Dentofacial Conference at the USC Graduate Orthodontic Program and has a part-time voluntary academic appointment at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He has served as a reviewer for the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and for the American Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has completed a six-year term as an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and he is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Relle is a frequent speaker at local and national educational forums.
