Past president of the University Clinics of Dental Medicine and past Director of the Department of Preventive Dental Medicine and Primary Dental Care and Chairman, Division of Cariology and Endodontology, University Clinics of Dental Medicine (CUMD). Focused on noninvasive restorative treatments, adhesive restorations of vital and devital teeth, lasers in dentistry, CAD/CAM manufacturing, 3D printing, digital 3D smile design, dental photography, novel caries diagnostic methods, personalized dental prevention, AI-empowered monitoring concepts and artificial intelligence in dentistry in general. Under my 9-years presidency from 2009 to 2018, the new revolutionary facility of the University Clinics of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva with 90 clinical and 32 preclinical workstations was designed, constructed and successfully opened: https://youtu.be/7xdL4EH3g08. I also introduced the first structured dental continuing education program in Switzerland, "Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Microinvasive esthetic dentistry", the only dental MAS in Switzerland awarded with full accreditation by the aaq: https://www.unige.ch/formcont/cours/mas-microinvasive-aesthetic-dentistry-2019 Together with Prof. Irena Sailer, we recently developed and introduced at the University of Geneva Switzerland's first and only Master of Advanced Studies (MAS) in Digital dental technologies https://www.unige.ch/medecine/fr/enseignement1/formationcontinue/mas/digital-dental-technologies/ Under my leadership and coming from nowhere, the University Clinics of Dental Medicine of the University of Geneva reached 23rd place in the QS World University Ranking in 2018: https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/university-subject-rankings/2018/dentistry. Together with Prof. Albert Feilzer, I have been serving as co-director of several PhD theses at the Academic Centre for Dentistry (ACTA), Amsterdam. ACTA is rated 2nd best in the QS World University Ranking in 2022: https://www.topuniversities.com/university-rankings/university-subject-rankings/2022/dentistry. The goal of modern dentistry is anti-aging and lifelong oral health. This vision is now becoming real by implementing AI-empowered early diagnosis and regular monitoring, individualized prevention, microregenerative procedures, as well as painless noninvasive early interventions.

Roland Kreutzer

Germany

Roland Kreutzer was born in Gummersbach in 1966 and has been a physiotherapist since 1991. He is an instructor for Brügger therapy (Zurich concept), a manual therapist, and an active course leader for Sensotape® courses. He has been working at the Philipps University of Marburg since 1992 as a physiotherapist, and since 2005 as a lecturer in the Master’s and Bachelor’s degree programs in physiotherapy. In addition, the author works as a physiotherapist in his own practice in Marburg and is a freelancer for KVM-Verlag, Berlin. This collaboration has resulted in him co-authoring several specialist books in the fields of medicine and physiotherapy. In his free time, he is an enthusiastic cyclist, runner, and swimmer, and thus a regular and active user of "self-tapping"!

Prof. Dr. Purnima S. Kumar DDS, PhD

Dr. Purnima Kumar is the William and Mary K. Najjar Endowed professor of Dentistry and Chair of the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry.  She received her dental degree from Annamalai University and MS in Periodontology from Dr. MGR Medical University in India.  She later received her Certificate in Periodontology and Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Microbiology from The Ohio State University.  Dr. Kumar previously served as professor of periodontology and chair of the oral biology PhD program at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and James Cancer Center.  

Dr. Kumar is the Principal Investigator of Oral Microbial Ecology Laboratory at the University of Michigan that has been continuously funded through the NIH for over 15 years. She also collaborates extensively with the oral healthcare industry to develop therapeutics for microbial modulation. 

She is a Fellow of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program, the American Association of Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research and the American and International College of Dentists.  She has authored over 100 papers and book chapters and serves as the Co-Editor of Clinical Advances in Periodontics, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Periodontology, Periodontology 2000, Nature Scientific Reports and Microbiome. She is an active clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator, has mentored several pre-dental, dental, master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral students and junior faculty colleagues and has served on several grant review panels for the NIH. She serves as the Chair of the Continuing Education Oversight Committee for the AAP and is a member of the AAP’s Taskforce for Future Science. She is a member of the Council of Scientific Affairs of the ADA and is their official spokesperson on e-cigarettes and vaping. Dr. Kumar has served on various committees of IADR and is presently the Vice-President of the Periodontal Research Group. She also serves on several task forces for women in science, women in surgery and women in STEM, and volunteers for groups that empower women locally and nationally.

She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and actively participates in patient care limited to periodontics and implant surgery.
