Pages 161, Language: GermanÜlner, O. / Yücel-Eroglu, E.A modified maxillary orthopedic splint is described and its effectiveness and effects are demonstrated on two patients who had a Class ll occlusion with an excessive deep bite. The modified maxillary orthopedic splint had both orthodontic and orthopedic effects on the individual dentoskeletal pattern. In any case it is important to create an optimal force vector. Under this condition and on selected Class ll patients the modified maxillary orthopedic splint is a meaningful appliance for early correction of vertical and sagittal discrepancies in a first treatment stage.
