Airway obstruction caused by hematoma development resulted in acute nasotracheal intubation and subsequent surgical intervention. Surgical, radiographic, and anatomic considerations to prevent severe bleeding are discussed. An extraoral submental appraoch in cases with large sublingual hematomas is recommended.
