Simon graduated from the University of Sheffield and subsequently became a Clinical Lecturer in Oral Surgery, being responsible for the training of undergraduate dental students. He was awarded Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgeons from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 2010. He later studied at the School of Law, King's College London and gained a Master's degree in Medical Ethics and Law. Simon was appointed a Specialist Registrar in Dental and Maxillofacial Radiology at Guy's Hospital London in 2014. He has an interest in CBCT and dento-legal disputes, and regularly teaches undergraduates and postgraduates.
Dr. Detlef Hildebrand is a dentist and dental technician, specializing in oral implantology, navigation, and robotics. After his time at the dental clinics of the universities in Freiburg and Berlin (Charité), he founded the Center of Competence in the heart of Berlin in 1998. Since 2007, he has been leading the dentist lists in FOCUS and STERN and is setting the course for dentistry at the highest level at the dental forum berlin. His specialty is treating anxious patients using the immediate treatment technique. Most treatments are performed under anesthesia with the help of certified anesthetists.
Dr. Hočevar graduated in 1996 from the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, where he received the Prešeren Award and the Oražen Prize for the top graduate of his generation. In 2017, he became the first dentist in Slovenia to be titled a Specialist in Biological Dentistry and Ceramic Implants. In the academic year 2021/2022, he successfully completed the 2nd Level University Master in Oral Implantology at the International University of Health Sciences in Rome. His main focus is on the immediate implantation of ceramic implants, especially in the aesthetic zone. He has developed a unique surgical technique that can improve the quality and appearance of the soft tissue after immediate implantation. Additionally, he regularly publishes peer-reviewed articles in the field of ceramic implants. Dr. Hočevar enjoys sharing his knowledge of biological dentistry at dental conferences and to the general public worldwide.
Marko Jakovac was born on 4 October 1974 in Zagreb, where he attended primary and secondary school. He graduated in 1993 and, in that same year, entered the School of Dental Medicine at the University of Zagreb. The Ministry of Science and Technology awarded him a scholarship in 1997 due to the high grade point average he achieved during his studies. In 1998, he graduated from the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb and began his internship. In 1999, he passed the state exam. In that same year, he enrolled in postgraduate studies in the field of dentistry. He was admitted to the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb as a junior research assistant in 2001. In 2002, he became an assistant and began his specialisation at the Department of Prosthodontics. He completed his master’s degree in 2003 under the mentorship of Prof Jasenka Živko-Babić, DMD, PhD. In 2005, he passed the specialist exam. He completed his doctoral dissertation in 2008. Since 2009, he has been an assistant professor at the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics and head of the course for professional development of doctors of dental medicine called “Advanced tooth preparation in fixed prosthodontics”. Since 2010, he has been the head of the postgraduate course “Aesthetics of fixed prosthodontic restorations on teeth and implants”. Since 2012, he has been running the undergraduate course “Preclinical and laboratory fixed prosthodontics”. He won the dean’s award for best teacher in 2013 and introduced a new undergraduate course entitled “Use of microscopes in dental medicine”. Since 2015, he has been an associate professor at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb, and since 2018, Vice-Dean for Postgraduate Studies. He became head of the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics in 2021 and head of the course “Fixed Prosthodontics 2”. Since 2023, he has been working as a full-time professor at the Department of Fixed Prosthodontics. He is the author of the textbook “Preclinical and Laboratory Fixed Prosthodontics” and has written numerous chapters in other textbooks at the School of Dental Medicine in Zagreb. As an author and co-author, he has written several scientific and professional papers. He has been a mentor for more than 30 graduate theses and 5 master’s degrees. He has participated in numerous projects and grants in the Republic of Croatia. He is a lecturer and organiser at a large number of international and domestic congresses and courses for the permanent training of doctors of dental medicine. He cooperates and teaches as a key opinion leader with companies such as Ivoclar, Carl Zeiss and Dentsply Sirona. He is a founder and vice-president of the Croatian Society of Minimal Intervention in Dental Medicine, founder of the European Academy of Digital Dentistry and Digital Dentistry, board member of the Croatian Prosthodontic Society and a member of the Society for Dental Implantology, the Croatian Medical Association and the Croatian Chamber of Dental Medicine. Lastly, he is the owner of Aesthetica polyclinic and Ae Vision educational centre.
Jim Janakievski received his D.D.S. from the University of Toronto, which was followed by a general practice residency. After several years in general practice, he completed his post-graduate training at the University of Washington, where he received a certificate in Periodontology with a M.S.D. degree and a fellowship in Prosthodontics. He began his academic position at the University of Washington as assistant director of Graduate Periodontics and is currently an affiliate assistant professor. Dr. Janakievski is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He is a reviewer for several dental journals and has published in the area of interdisciplinary dentistry, dental implants, and tooth autotransplantation. Dr. Janakievski teaches at Spear Education in Scottsdale Arizona. In addition, he participates in practice-based clinical research through the McGuire Institute. He maintains a private practice in Tacoma, Washington.
Ronald Jung is trained in oral surgery, prosthodontics and implant therapy. He is currently Head Division of Implantology at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zürich. In 2006 he worked as Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontics at the University of Texas Heath Science Center at San Antonio, USA (Chairman: Prof. Dr. D. Cochran). 2008 he finalized his "Habilitation" (venia legendi) in dental medicine and was appointed at the University of Zürich. In 2011 he became his PhD doctorate degree of the University of Amsterdam, ACTA dental school, The Netherlands. In 2013 he worked as Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Restorative Dentistry and Biomaterials Sciences at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston, USA. In 2015 he has been promoted to full Professorship for Implantology at the University of Zurich. He is an accomplished and internationally renowned lecturer and researcher, best known for his work in the field of hard and soft tissue management and his research on new technologies in implant dentistry. He is currently Treasurer of the EAO, Past President of the Swiss Society of Reconstructive Dentistry, member of the Board of Directors of the Osteology Foundation and active Member of the EAED.
Dr. Joseph Kan completed his specialty training in Prosthodontics as well as the Master degree from the Implant Surgery from Loma Linda University School of Dentistry (LLUSD) in 1997. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Restorative Dentistry and the research coordinator for the Implant Dentistry Program in LLUSD. He also maintains a private practice limited to Prosthodontics and Implant Surgery. In 1997, Dr. Kan was the recipient of the Best Research Award in the 12th Annual Meeting of the Academy of Osseointegration. He also received the Judson C. Hinckey Scientific Award from the Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry in 2003 and the Robert James Achievement Award in 2005. Dr. Kan is on the Periodontology/Implantology Editorial Board of the Practical Periodontics & Aesthetic Dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of Osseointegration, American College of Prosthodontists, American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and an associate member of the Pacific Coast Society of Prosthodontists. Dr. Kan is one of few clinicians worldwide that had been trained in both the surgical and restorative discipline of implant dentistry. Besides lecturing both nationally and internationally, he has published over 40 articles in reference journals and chapters in textbooks.
His areas of special interest include replacement of missing teeth, bite problems, and aesthetic dentistry. He is a member of the American Academy of Fixed Prosthodontics and the American Prosthodontic Society and he annually attends their meetings in Chicago. Recently he became a faculty member of Spear Education, the leading educational institute in the U.S. Since 2008 Kostas has been teaching undergraduate and postgraduate dental students at King’s College (Guy’s Hospital). This involves giving weekly seminars, clinical demonstrations and supervision of patient treatment. He currently teaches training specialists in Prosthodontics. He is married to Arzu and they have one son, Alexis. In his spare time he enjoys traveling and sports such as football and running

Committed to advancing the art and science of restorative dentistry, Dr. Kinzer continues to serve as an affiliate assistant professor in the graduate prosthodontic program at the University of Washington School of Dentistry. He also taught with Dr. Frank Spear at the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education from 1998-2009 prior to joining Spear Resident Faculty.
In addition, Dr. Kinzer has written numerous articles and chapters for many dental publications and serves on the editorial review board for the Journal of Esthetics and Restorative Dentistry. He maintains a private practice in Seattle limited to comprehensive restorative and esthetic dentistry.
Dr. Kinzer received his D.D.S. from the University of Washington in 1995 and an M.S.D. and certificate in prosthodontics in 1998.
Dubravka Knezović Zlatarić is Professor of Prosthodontics in the Department of Removable Prosthodontics and Head of Ellective Lectures „Basics of Esthetic Dentistry“ and „Digital clinical communication with the dental laboratory“ at the School of Dental Medicine, University of Zagreb, Croatia, where she gained her clinical certificate in Prosthodontics and completed PhD. As a member of European Prosthetic Association she was awarded three times – for the best presented scientific study, poster presentation and for the young investigators in the fields of Prosthodontics. In 2007, she was the winner of the second place for outstanding poster presentation at the meeting of the International College of Prosthodontists in Fukuoka, Japan. She has been the principle investigator and project manager of several scientific projects financed by Ministry of science and University of Zagreb. Her research and clinical focus is on various esthetic dental treatments with emphasis on minimally invasive procedures restoring teeth to their natural appearance in different color management protocols.
Ina Köttgen, Dr med dent, MSc, maintains a joint private practice with Dr Christopher Köttgen in Mainz, Germany, limited to functional diagnostics, periodontology, implantology, and restorative dentistry. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the German Society for Periodontology.
Dr. Purnima Kumar is the William and Mary K. Najjar Endowed professor of Dentistry and Chair of the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She received her dental degree from Annamalai University and MS in Periodontology from Dr. MGR Medical University in India. She later received her Certificate in Periodontology and Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular Microbiology from The Ohio State University. Dr. Kumar previously served as professor of periodontology and chair of the oral biology PhD program at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry and James Cancer Center.
Dr. Kumar is the Principal Investigator of Oral Microbial Ecology Laboratory at the University of Michigan that has been continuously funded through the NIH for over 15 years. She also collaborates extensively with the oral healthcare industry to develop therapeutics for microbial modulation.
She is a Fellow of the Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) program, the American Association of Dental, Oral and Craniofacial Research and the American and International College of Dentists. She has authored over 100 papers and book chapters and serves as the Co-Editor of Clinical Advances in Periodontics, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Periodontology, Periodontology 2000, Nature Scientific Reports and Microbiome. She is an active clinician, teacher, researcher and administrator, has mentored several pre-dental, dental, master’s, doctoral and post-doctoral students and junior faculty colleagues and has served on several grant review panels for the NIH. She serves as the Chair of the Continuing Education Oversight Committee for the AAP and is a member of the AAP’s Taskforce for Future Science. She is a member of the Council of Scientific Affairs of the ADA and is their official spokesperson on e-cigarettes and vaping. Dr. Kumar has served on various committees of IADR and is presently the Vice-President of the Periodontal Research Group. She also serves on several task forces for women in science, women in surgery and women in STEM, and volunteers for groups that empower women locally and nationally.
She is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and actively participates in patient care limited to periodontics and implant surgery.
Panagiotis Lampropoulos was born in Athens in 1977. He finished school at the German School of Athens (1995) and enrolled at Dental School Albert-Ludwig University in Freiburg, Germany, after taking the state exam (Abitur). In 2000 he began the preparation of his doctoral thesis at the Prosthodontics department and in 2003 he received his Doctorate of Dental Faculty from the University of Freiburg (Dr. Med. Dent) as a postgraduate student. Furthermore in 2001 he attended a postgraduate program in Applied Management in Dentistry. In 2004 he returned to Greece and fulfilled his military service as a dentist. From 2005 to 2013 he worked as a research associate and from 2019 he is clinical instructor in the postgraduate program in the Department of Prosthetic Dentistry at the School of Dentistry, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dr. Panagiotis Lampropoulos has graduated the EAO’s Master diploma in implant dentistry (Class 2017). He maintains a private practice in Athens since 2005 limited to prosthetic dentistry and dental implants. He has trained dentists in implant prosthetics and he is an international trainer for MIS, Dentsply. He is a member and a registered speaker of the ITI (International Team of Implantology), member of EAO (European Association of Osseointegration), the European Prosthodontic Association (EPA) and the Digital Dentistry Society (DDS) and an active member of Hellenic Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. He is member of the board of Stomatological Society of Greece and of the Greek Prosthodontic Society. Panagiotis Lampropoulos is an international speaker and has made numerous presentations in multiple conferences about guided implantology and digital dentistry.
Dr. Lanis graduated from the University of Valparaiso, Chile in 2008 and completed a three-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Implantology at the University of Chile in Santiago. Additionally, he has an advanced diploma in Marketing and Health Administration from University of Chile School of Business and an advanced certification in Medical Education from Catholic University of Chile School of Medicine. In 2013, he moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan to participate as an Implant Scholar in the Periodontics and Oral Medicine Department at University of Michigan School of Dentistry. During his career he has been specially dedicated to the practice of advanced prosthodontics, oral implantology and digital dentistry. Dr. Lanis is a recognized international lecturer in digital dentistry, oral implantology, esthetics and prosthodontics. He is fellow of the International Team for Implantology where he serves in the Global Education Committee and member of the European Association for Osseointegration, the International College of Prosthodontics and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. He has published several scientific articles in specialized journals and books and has collaborated as a scientific advisor with different dental implant companies worldwide.
Dr. Ernesto Lee is a distinguished expert in Dental Implants and Esthetic Dentistry, notable for his patented S.M.A.R.T. Minimally Invasive Bone Grafting technique. He formerly directed the Periodontal Prosthesis/Fixed Prosthodontics Postgraduate Program at the University of Pennsylvania, where he significantly enhanced its reputation. Edward S. Lee, DDS, is currently teaching at the UCSF Postgraduate Endodontic Clinic. Dr Lee is a recognized innovator in the field of endodontics. He invented and patented the MTA Pellet Forming Block over 20 years ago. The MTA Block is still in production and sold worldwide. He has lectured nationally and internationally about the MTA Pellet Forming Block technique and has published articles in peer-reviewed journals. He also participates in Dental Humanitarian Projects in Suqian and Chengdu, China.
