The aim of this course is to give participants an insight into a close cooperation between different dental specialties and to show the management of demanding interdisciplinary cases. As many of the shown patients are teenagers and young adults, avoidance of implants might prove to be of great importance. Alternative methods and techniques of tooth replacement such as the usage of deciduous teeth, decoration, tooth transplantation, adhesive bridges will be thoroughly discussed in connection with highly advanced orthodontic therapy.
This course will begin with an outline of interdisciplinary treatment planning and intertwining cooperation of different dental specialties which will be followed by an in depth immersion into the traits of the particular cooperating disciplines explained by the respective specialists. This will include orthodontics, surgery, periodontology, implants and restorative techniques. These individual bricks will then be used to build the house of interdisciplinary treatment. This unique course will be closed on the second day by a treatment planning session where participants will work in groups to develop a treatment plan for a specific pacient. All necessary data will be provided. After presenting a proposed treatment plan by a group member, the actual treatment will be shown and thoroughly discussed by the speakers and participants.
