Ali Tahmaseb graduated in dentistry from the University of Ghent (Belgium) in 1993. He went on to take an orthodontics program in France as well as various training programs in oral surgery and implant dentistry throughout Europe and the USA between 1996 and 2000. In 2011 he completed his PhD program at ACTA under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel Wismeijer, where he also now teaches at the special master program for oral implantology as an Associate Professor. He is co-founder of a novel concept in guided surgery and primary investigator in this field at the University of Amsterdam. Ali Tahmaseb is an NVOI (Dutch Implantology Society) registered implant dentist and works in referral offices in Netherlands and Belgium. He has been an ITI Fellow since 2008 and has participated in several education, Consensus meetings and research projects in different areas in implant dentistry. His main research areas are in guided surgery, CAD/CAM, bone regeneration around endosseous implants and guided bone regeneration. He has authored and co-authored a number of publications and lectured internationally.
Sandra Tai, BDS, MS, has been an Invisalign certified orthodontist since 2000 and is currently an Invisalign Top 1%/Diamond Provider who has teated over 1,500 cases with Invisalign. As an editorial board member for the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics and a member of Align Tech Faculty in North America, she is involved in several clinical research projects and FDA clinical trials with clear aligners. Dr Tai is currently a clinical assistant professor in Orthodontics as well as the coordinator for the Invisalign program at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. She also maintains a busy international lecture schedule, speaking to orthodontists all over the world about clear aligners and their potential. Dr Tai is a Fellow of the College of Dental Surgeons of British Columbia and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists, Canada, as well as a member of several professional organizations. She is also the founding member and past president of the Orthodontics Ties Seminars Study Club in Vancouver and the Vancouver Invisalign Study Club, where she mentors and trains dentists in the Invisalign system. She received her graduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Minnesota.
Dennis P. Tarnow, DDS, is clinical professor of periodontology and director of implant education at Columbia School of Dental Medicine. He is a recipient of the Master Clinician Award from the American Academy of Periodontology, Teacher of the Year Award from New York University, and Distinguished Lecturer Award from the American College of Prosthodontists. He has published over 200 articles on perio-prosthodontics and implant dentistry and has coauthored four textbooks, including The Single-Tooth Implant (Quintessence Publishing, 2020) with Dr Stephen J. Chu. Dr Tarnow maintains a private practice in New York City and has lectured in over 45 countries.
Having graduated from Istanbul University School of Dentistry in 1984, Engin Taviloglu continues his studies particularly on field of esthetic dentistry in his private practice in Istanbul-Tesvikiye. He has been lecturing in seminars, giving hands-on courses and performing live case demonstrations on esthetic dentistry and composite applications in particular. He is the author of AN ATLAS OF COMPOSITE APPLICATIONS and three DVDs ; “PRACTICAL INDIRECT COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS” , “COMPOSITE RESTORATIONS WITH SILICONE MATRIX IN ANTERIOR TOOTH FRACTURE” and ”DIRECT COMPOSITE VENEER APPLICATION” which are available from Quintessence Publishing Inc. in Turkish. Engin Taviloglu worked as a member of Executive Board for Turkish Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EDAD) for 19 years and continuously shares his cases and practical information about esthetic dentistry and particularly composite applications with many dentists in a social media group named “e-kompozit” which he has established on internet. Engin Taviloglu is married and has a son, speaks English and French and plays tenor saxophone. As an artist, he is interested in watercolor painting and many of his works take place in various collections. Being a former basketball player with a championship in Turkish 1st Basketball League, later a veteran tennis player with many prizes won in several tournaments, Taviloglu is currently involved in golfing with many championships and represents his country in both domestic and international model aircraft contests.

Tiziano Tealdo, DDS, MS, CDT, obtained his certificate in dental laboratory technology in 1984. Dr Tealdo graduated in dentistry at the University of Turin, Italy in 1991. At the same university, he earned his postgraduate degree in oral surgery in 1993. Dr Tealdo obtained the university certificate in implantology at the University of Aix-Marseille, France, in 1998. From 1998 to 2000 he completed Dr Carlo Tinti’s postgraduate periodontal program, whichfocused on reconstruction of hard and soft tissue in conjunction with implant surgery. Dr Tealdo’s interest in implant-prosthetic therapy led him to attend the Brånemarkkliniken and the Brånemark Osseointegration Center, Gothenburg, Sweden; the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Ümea, Sweden; and the Malo Clinic in Lisbon, Portugal. Since 1997 he has been in charge of the Implant Division in the Department of Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry of Genoa University, Italy. Prof Dr med dent Hendrik Terheyden is head physician at the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Helios Hospital in Kassel, Germany. Hendrik Terheyden studied dentistry from 1983 to 1989 at the University of Kiel. In 1989, he was a staff physician for the Navy in Flensburg. From 1989-1992 he studied human medicine at the University of Kiel. In 1993 he became a specialist in oral surgery and in 1997 a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery with the additional title of plastic surgery (1999). In 1999 he completed his PhD (Habilitation) at the University of Kiel. He received the Wassmund Prize of the German Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (DGMKG). In 2004, he became an adjunct professor at Kiel University. From 2009 to 2012, he was president of the German Society for Implantology, and from 2017 to 2019, he was Chairman of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Working Group of the German Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (DGZMK). Since 2006, Prof Terheyden has been section editor of the International Journal of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, and since 2012 he has been editor in chief of the International Journal of Implant Dentistry. Since 2021, he has served on the board of the Working Group of Senior Hospitalists of the German Society for Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
Deborah A. Termeie, DDS, is a clinical instructor in the Department of Periodontics at the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology (ABP), and it was her experience preparing for the ABP qualifying exams that inspired her to write this book. Dr Termeie is also an editor and author of Avoiding and Treating Dental Complications: Best Practices in Dentistry (John Wiley & Sons, 2016) and has published on the topics of evidence-based dentistry and implantology. She is the recipient of several awards, including the Excellence in Implantology Research award from the California Society of Periodontics, and has been invited to participate in the American Academy of Periodontics Leadership, Engagement, Action, and Development (LEAD) Program. She maintains a private practice in Beverly Hills, California.
Douglas A. Terry, DDS, holds positions as an adjunct professor in the department of restorative sciences at the University of Alabama at Birmingham and professor emeritus in the department of conservative dentistry and endodontics at the V.S. Dental College & Hospital, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences in Bangalore, India. He has authored several hundred scientific articles and textbooks, including Restoring with Flowables (Quintessence, 2016), Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry: Material Selection and Technique, Third Edition (2018), and Restoring the Intraradicular Space: Esthetic Post Systems (2021). He has lectured nationally and internationally on various subjects in restorative and esthetic dentistry and is a dental materials clinical research consultant for industry manufacturers. Dr Terry is founder and CEO of the Institute of Esthetic and Restorative Dentistry and a member of Oral Design International. He maintains a private practice in Houston, Texas.
Tiziano Testori, MD, DDS, is the head of the Implant Dentistry and Oral Rehabilitation section of the Department of Biomedical, Surgical, and Dental Science at the Galeazzi Orthopedic Institute in Milan, Italy. He is also an adjunct clinical associate professor of the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine in the School of Dentistry at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. He is a past president of the Italian Academy of Osseointegration and serves as section editor for the International Journal of Oral Implantology and on multiple editorial boards. Dr Testori has authored 140 peer-reviewed publications and 4 books on implantology.
Prof. Dr. Daniel Thoma is the Head of Implantology and Regeneration at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. He was trained in implant dentistry and prosthodontics at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich, Switzerland. Dr. Thoma was the recipient of an ITI scholarship and spent 1 year at the Department of Periodontics, University of Texas, Health Science Center, San Antonio, USA. In 2016, Dr. Thoma was a Visiting Associate Professor at the Department of Periodontology, Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. Since 2020, Dr. Thoma is an Adjunct Professor and serves as the Head of Implantology and Regeneration.
