In an age when smile esthetics are more important than ever, many patients are treated with invasive and costly restorative procedures that require tooth reduction and the destruction of perfectly good enamel. Patients receiving “smile makeovers” often do not understand the biologic cost of removing enamel—a beautiful tissue that not even the best biomaterials can truly mimic. Modern ceramics might come close, but only enamel can last forever. The ultimate goal of minimally invasive dentistry is to keep teeth intact for life. This book describes the best minimally invasive procedures for improving smile esthetics while preserving the natural tooth structure. Dive in to learn more about nightguard bleaching, enamel microabrasion, resin infiltration, and no-prep restorations, as well as tips for achieving great rubber dam isolation. Your efforts will be rewarded with beautiful and long-lasting results.
