Rafael Benoliel, BDS, is director of the Center for Orofacial Pain and Temporomandibular Disorders and associate dean for research at the Rutgers School of Dental Medicine. Dr Benoliel served as a faculty member at The Hebrew University-Hadassah School of Dental Medicine, where he was also appointed chair of the Department of Oral Medicine. He served as research associate at the Unit of Neuronal Gene Expression at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research. Dr Benoliel has published extensively on the subject of orofacial pain; lectures extensively at national and international meetings; serves on the editorial board of several leading journals; and has served on many scientific committees including the Classification Committees of the International Headache Society and the Research Diagnostic Criteria for Temporomandibular Disorders.
Dr. Benting has developed content for Spear Digest and for several Spear Study Club modules. He developed, and continues to present, the Restoring the Edentulous Arch workshop with fellow Resident Faculty member Dr. Darin Dichter. Dr. Benting maintains a prosthodontic referral practice in Phoenix. He is a past president of the Arizona section of the American College of Prosthodontists and currently serves on the ACP Board of Directors. He served as an adjunct faculty member in the prosthodontic clinic at the Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health and at the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry. Dr. Benting earned a B.S. from University of South Dakota in 1994, D.D.S. from University of Minnesota in 1999 and certificate in prosthodontics with a Master of Science in 2002, also from Minnesota. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Prosthodontics and a fellow of the ACP.
Dr. Rafael Beolchi majored in Dentistry from the University of São Paulo, Brazil, in the year 2000. He has maintained a private practice since 2001, working mainly in aesthetic dentistry and oral rehabilitation. In 2009 he received his Master's degree on Biomaterials from the Institute of Energetic and Nuclear Research, from the same University.
He teaches around the world, focusing on advanced handling of dental materials with an easy step-by-step approach that simplifies the procedure and has presented several lectures and workshops addressing those topics in North, Central & South America, Europe, Africa and Asia, in more than 60 countries.
Dr. Beolchi is currently based in Portugal, where he finished his second Master’s degree, in Dental Medicine, working as a dentist and as consultant for esthetic products and materials for the Dental industry, applying his clinical and scientific knowledge in the development of new and better dental products.
He is the author of several articles in Portuguese, Spanish and English, about the topics of direct placed esthetic restorations and lightcuring, topics on which he still maintains his activity as a researcher until today. He also the author of book chapters on the same fields and collaborates on studies with several other institutions around the world.
Tord Berglundh is professor and chair at the Department of Periodontology at the Institute of Odontology, Sahlgrenska Academy at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Prof Berglundh graduated (DDS) in 1978 in Gothenburg and received his degree in odontology and his certificate as specialist in periodontics in 1992. He received his PhD in 1993. He was appointed associate professor in 1994 and then full professor in periodontology in 2002 at the University of Gothenburg, where he has served since 1981. Prof Berglundh is co-editor of the textbook Clinical Periodontology and Implant Dentistry and associate editor of the journals Clinical Oral Implants Research and the EFP’s Journal of Clinical Periodontology. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Dental Research and serves as a referee on several other journals. He has received numerous scientific awards and produced about 230 scientific publications within the field of dental implants, periodontal and peri-implant diseases, immunology, genetics, tissue integration, and regeneration.
Ken Berley, DDS, JD, is a dentist and lawyer who has focused his dental practice on the treatment of sleep-disordered breathing and temporomandibular disorders. He is also the president of a consulting firm offering in-office training on dental sleep medicine (DSM) and consent forms and documents to assist DSM practice. Dr Berley is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine and regularly lectures in the areas of risk management and the development of a successful DSM practice. He has been published in Sleep Review magazine and other journals associated with sleep-disordered breathing, and he provides consulting services for various insurance companies and actively defends and advises dentists who are facing legal charges.
From 1994 to 1999, Prof. Dr. Florian Beuer studied at the Dental School of the Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Germany, where he gained his license to practice (DDS) in 2000. From 2000 to 2001, he worked as an employed dentist in a private practice. In 2002, he became assistant professor in the Department of Prosthodontics of the Ludwig Maximilian University and made his Dissertation (Dr. med. dent.) in the same year. He became Specialist in Implantology (German Society for Implantology) in 2005. From 2007 to 2008, he worked as a Visiting Professor at the Pacific Dental Institute in Portland, Oregon (Director: John A. Sorensen DMD, PhD). His habilitation (Priv. Doz., PhD) was in 2009 at the LMU. From 2009 to 2015, he was the Vice President of the "Deutsche Gesellschaft für Ästhetische Zahnheilkunde (DGAEZ)". In 2010, he became an Expert in Prosthodontics after a further education at DGPro. Since 2011, Prof. Buer is a board member of the Team AG Ceramics. In the same year, he became the editor of the "Teamwork Journal of Continuing Dental Education". Since 2014, he was full Professor at Ludwig Maximilians University until 2015, when he became the Chairman of the Department of Prosthodontics at the Charité University of Medicine Berlin. He is also a Board Member of the German Society for Implantology (DGI).He gained his Master of Medical Education MME (University of Heidelberg) in 2015.
Dr Stephan Beuer, MSc, studied dentistry in Regensburg from 1997 to 2003. After 2 years of preparation in a general dental practice, he completed his specialist training as an oral surgeon in an oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. In 2006 he completed his doctorate under Prof Dr Michael Christgau. Dr Beuer earned his master of science (MSc) degree in orthodontics at the end of 2009. At the beginning of 2010, he opened the Münchnerau practice clinic in Landshut together with Dr Christian A. Kaes. His main areas of treatment are hard and soft tissue augmentation, periodontal surgery, and implantology. He works exclusively as a surgeon. Dr Beuer is also a speaker and author as well as a member of the “New Group” and various other scientific societies.
John Beumer III, DDS, MS, received his DDS from the University of California, San Francisco in 1967. He subsequently completed his postgraduate training in oral medicine there in 1970 before continuing with postgraduate training in prosthodontics at UCLA. He is a Distinguished Professor Emeritus in the Division of Advanced Prosthodontics at the UCLA School of Dentistry and was formerly chair of that division. Dr Beumer has published extensively in the scientific literature, including Maxillofacial Rehabilitation (Quintessence, 2011) and Fundamentals of Implant Dentistry (Quintessence, 2015–2016).
Marco Bevilacqua, DDS, graduated with honors in dentistry from the University of Turin, Italy in 1998. Dr Bevilacqua began his studies in implantology while attending an International Training Course at the Brånemark Clinic of Gothenburg, Sweden, in 2002. In 2004 he specialized in oral implantology at the University of Genoa, Italy. Currently Dr Bevilacqua is working and lecturing at the University of Genoa teaching predoctoral and postdoctoral students in the Department of Implant and Prosthetic Dentistry, directed by Professor Paolo Pera. Since 2009 he has been a reviewer for the Journal of Prosthodontics.
Nitzan Bichacho, D.M.D. holds the post of expert in prosthodontics at the rank of Professor, at the Faculty of Dental Medicine, Hebrew University and Hadassah, Jerusalem, Israel, where he graduated in 1984. Prof. Bichacho is Past President and a Life Member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED) and serves on the editorial boards of leading international dental journals. He developed restorative and prosthetic clinical techniques that have become widely used around the world. Prof. Bichacho publishes and lectures worldwide on dental implant therapy, fixed prosthodontics, interdisciplinary treatments and innovative treatment modalities in esthetic dentistry. The Bichacho Clinic in Tel Aviv focuses on high-end esthetic oriented interdisciplinary treatments, collaborating with world renowned colleagues and dental technicians.
Andrew Biel is a certified physiotherapist. He has served the faculties of Boulder College of Massage Therapy (Colorado) and Seattle Massage School, and lectures at Bastyr University in the Naturopathic Medicine Program. He lives outside Lyons, Colorado, with his family – Lyn, Grace, and Elias.
Dr. med. dent. Stefan P. Bienz graduated with a Master’s in Dental Medicine at the Center of Dental Medicine, University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2011. After a 5-year period as a full-time associate in the private practices of Dr. Andreas Grimm and Dres Ueli Grunder and David Schneider, he completed the 3-year postgraduate training at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich (2016-2018). He received a Master’s in Oral Implantology from the University of Zurich and is a specialist in reconstructive dentistry. He is currently a full-time Senior Research and Teaching Assistant at the Clinic of Reconstructive Dentistry, University of Zurich. Stefan Bienz’s clinical work encompasses complex and esthetic cases including all aspects of hard and soft tissue regeneration, dental implants and reconstructive dentistry. His scientific focus lies on soft and hard tissue regeneration.
