8. Jun 2023 — 11. Jun 2023
Dear Colleagues,
As the new program chairs, we would like to invite you to join us for the 26th International Symposium on Ceramics (ISC), which will be held at the newly renovated Town and Country in San Diego.
The theme of ISC 2023 is “Simplicity Meets Esthetics,” and we will explore the esthetics that can be expected and achieved in the digital era. We will be questioning if the workflow of conventional manual fabrication for ceramic restorations is still the gold standard when it comes to exceptional, individualized esthetics. Can this esthetic perfection also be achieved with simpler procedures like CAD/CAM fabrication? Can we use prefabricated ingots and still achieve different shades and optical properties?
For the first time, the Main Sessions will be composed of three speakers: a highly recognized clinician and their master dental technician as well as a university expert. Taken together, these three voices will provide truly interdisciplinary evidence and facilitate experience-based discussions.
We have also organized new complementary sessions. Hot Topic lectures will focus on trending subjects such as new zirconia variations, 3D staining and glazing, and 3D printing of ceramics, among others. Lectures for the Legends on Stage will feature pioneers in the field of dental ceramics to present on the past, present, and future of dental ceramics. Finally, we are also introducing New Faces lectures to feature the next generation of up-and-coming talent. Speakers in these sessions will compete for New Faces slots by creating short videos on their specific topics for social media. The winners will have the opportunity to present on the main stage.
We hope that ISC 2023 will exceed your expectations and answer your questions on dental ceramics. Come find out!
Sincerely,
Irena Sailer & Vincent Fehmer
