Skeletal anchorage including miniscrews have been introduced into the orthodontics to reduce the
need for patient compliance and provide better anchorage control for clinicians. However, gingival
irritation, recession, and soreness around miniscrew heads are among the most common clinical
limitations with these modalities. In the present article, the fabrication of an easy and applicable
custom-made composite heads has been introduced as a potential clinical solution. The goal of this
“Reverse-Orchid” design is to provide retention, better hygiene and a gum-friendly environment
around the miniscrew heads.
