It is based on the healing properties of the essential oils. It can be used to alleviate specific symptoms or as a relaxant. Aromatherapy is currently used worldwide in the management of psychiatric disorders like chronic pain, depression, anxiety and, some cognitive disorders, bipolar disorders, stress-related disorders and sleep disorders. This poster reviews about 'psycho-aromatherapy' in relation to psychiatric disorders, along with mechanistic, neuropharmacological effects.
