In zweiter und überarbeiteter Auflage werden in diesem Werk die hochkomplexen topographisch-anatomischen Verhältnisse des Gesichts anhand lückenloser Serien von plastischen, detailreichen Illustrationen mit dreidimensionaler Anmutung Schicht für Schicht dargestellt.

Wichtige Orientierungspunkte, anatomische Details und klinisch relevante Konstellationen von Nerven und Gefäßen finden dabei Berücksichtigung.

Eine weitere Besonderheit: Aufgrund der immer gleichen Ansichten in den verschiedenen Präparationsschichten bleibt die Übersicht stets erhalten. Begleittexte und Bildlegenden heben das Wesentliche hervor; im Vordergrund steht jedoch immer das Bild.

He has developed new methods that produce highly detailed and yet esthetically fascinating images of human anatomy. These methods form the foundation of the three-volume atlas of anatomy Prometheus, which is being published by Thieme and for which he has created most of the illustrations.
