The papilla tissue around teeth and implants is an essential
component in esthetic appearance because it is visible
in about 80% of patients. Surgical, prosthetic, and
orthodontic approaches will be considered for reconstruction
of lost papillae. Strategy of treatment will be
verified in papillae that are between teeth, tooth-pontic,
pontic-pontic, tooth-implant, implant-implant, and
implant-pontic. This presentation will be focused mainly
on surgical techniques for reconstructing papillae around
teeth and dental implants, and will further discuss the
mean value and distance distribution of papilla height to
predict the feasibility and the limitations of papillae
reconstruction- and will touch on how to expand the
potential of papilla reconstruction combined with prosthetic
and orthodontic treatment.
