Why attend?

This isn't just another standard presentation—it's a deep dive into cutting-edge approaches to predictable and reproducible results. We'll cover:

- Perfect Timing: Learn how to make the critical decisions in the aesthetic zone. Whether it's removing a hopeless tooth, placing an implant immediately, or deciding if bone and soft tissue augmentation should occur before or simultaneously, we’ll explore all options through real-life cases. And while we follow the recommendations from the Consensus Papers by Tonetti and Tony Jung (2019), we'll also push the boundaries and look beyond the standard protocols, giving you innovative approaches you can confidently apply in your practice.

- Horizontal Bone Augmentation with Xenogeneic Materials: Get a step-by-step guide to managing horizontal bone defects. I'll demonstrate techniques that ensure stable, long-term results, even in the most complex cases.

- Building Soft Tissue for Optimal Aesthetics: Learn how to achieve predictable soft tissue outcomes that not only function well but also provide stunning aesthetics.

- Creating Implant-Supported Provisional Restorations & Definitive Crowns: Discover how to craft implant-supported provisionals and definitive crowns that achieve the perfect harmony of form and function. Through meticulously documented patient cases, you’ll see how to deliver those dream smiles your patients desire.

This presentation is not just theoretical. You'll be taken on a visual journey, featuring a wealth of real patient cases that illustrate a well-established, reproducible practice model. These cases show techniques developed and refined over years of experience, delivering consistent results and, most importantly—happy patients.

By attending, you'll walk away with a clear understanding of how to approach your next challenging case with confidence and precision.

Perfect your implant practice—sign up today!

Don’t miss this chance to learn in an inspiring, practical, and visually engaging environment. Whether you want to enhance your current approach or explore new techniques, this presentation will give you the tools to deliver exceptional results for your patients.

Zero Bone Loss Concepts. How to Turn Contraindication for Immediate Implants into Indication? Dr. Tomas Linkevičius
Immediate implant placement was shown to be a successful alternative to regular delayed implant treatment. However, there are still a lot of contraindications in clinicians’ minds, which do not allow immediates to be used as widely as they deserve.

Thin buccal plate, lack of apicocoronally bone, lack of primary stability is listed as most frequent contraindications to do immediate implants. This course will debunk all myths connected to immediacy and will not only help you turn contraindications for immediate into indications, but also will increase the number of implants you are placing.

MYRON NEVINS RESEARCH COMPETITION

For the first time in the history of the International Symposium on Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, the Myron Nevins Research Competition will be held at ISPRD25. This scientific event is envisioned as an opportunity for current residents in accredited advanced education programs in periodontics or graduates who completed their program no more than one academic year prior to ISPRD25 to present their original clinical and translational research.

To be considered for participation, the following criteria must be met:

  • Research must have been performed by the finalist while enrolled in their advanced education program.
  • Research may be interdisciplinary but must be clinical or translational in nature.
  • Research must be original and hypothesis driven (no systematic reviews will be allowed).
  • Any actual or potential conflict of interest from any of the authors must be disclosed.

Submissions must conform to a specific abstract template with the following parameters:

  • maximum of 8 authors is allowed, and an email address and affiliation must be listed for each.
  • One of the authors must be identified as the “lead author.”
  • The title must be 12 words or less.
  • maximum of 400 words is allowed for the abstract itself.
  • The abstract should include the following sections: Background, Objective, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.

To ensure that your abstract meets these parameters, see the abstract example available via

download here.

Deadline for abstract submission: January 31, 2025.

Submissions should be emailed to Leah Huffman at submit@quintbook.com

Abstracts will be reviewed by members of the editorial board of the International Journal of Periodontics and Restorative Dentistry, and finalists will be selected. Finalists will be informed by February 28, 2025.

Finalists will present at the ISPRD25 on Thursday, June 12, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. After a brief introduction, finalists will present to a panel of three judges. Each finalist will be given 12 minutes to present their research, and 5 minutes will be reserved for questions. Presentations will be evaluated and scored by the judges based on a set of preestablished criteria. More details for this forum will be shared in 2025.

Only the individual named in the abstract submission as the “lead author” may present and respond to questions, unless a change is requested and approved by the program chairs. The presenter must also be registered at ISPRD25.

Winners will be announced at the plenary session on the morning of Friday, June 13, in the Grand Ballroom. Awards of $1,500 for the winner and $1,000 for the two runners-up will be given to be used for the purchase of Quintessence books in the exhibit hall. In addition, a plaque of recognition will be presented to the winner, and their registration ticket will be refunded. The two other finalists will receive a certificate of recognition.

We encourage all eligible candidates to apply to this exciting new competition, and we look forward to reviewing your submissions!

Sincerely,

Gustavo Avila-Ortiz  and Oscar Gonzalez-Martin
