Wael Att, DDS, Dr med dent, PhD, is professor and chair of the Department of Prosthodontics at Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and a professor of prosthodontics at the University of Freiburg School of Dentistry in Germany. Daniel Buser, DDS, Prof em Dr med dent, is one of the most experienced international implant surgeons, with 35 years of surgical experience. Dr Clavijo holds a degree in Dentistry from Universidade Paulista, São Paulo, Brazil (2002) and obtained the title of Specialist, Master and Doctor in Restorative Dentistry, from UNESP Araraquara (2003–2011). Despite his academic background, his focus is on clinical care. He has followed in the footsteps of his father, who has been a clinician for over 50 years in the city of Indaiatuba, São Paulo, Brazil. He has more than 60 articles published in national and international journals and has authored and co-authored books in the dental field. His work is based on clinical and scientific evidence. Currently, he divides his time between appointments at his clinic, classes, and courses in Brazil and abroad. Dr Didier Dietschi graduated from the University of Geneva Dental School, Switzerland, in 1984, where he completed specialty training in periodontology and restorative dentistry. He held the positions of assistant, lecturer, and senior lecturer at the same university, where he received his doctoral title in 1988 under the supervision of Prof Jacques Holz and a Privat-Docent degree in 2004. He earned his PhD in 2003 at the Academic Centre for Dentistry in Amsterdam, Netherlands, under the guidance of Prof Carel Davidson. In 1990, he started a part-time practice in a private office in Geneva limited to esthetic restorative dentistry with a focus on soft tissue management and implantology. Since 2005, he has held the position of adjunct professor at Case Western Reserve University (USA) and maintained his part-time senior lecturer position at the University of Geneva in the Department of Cariology and Endodontics headed by Prof Ivo Krejci. Dr Dietschi has won numerous awards for his contributions to adhesive restorative dentistry. He is an active lecturer author, journal reviewer, and industry consultant and has contributed to significant improvements in the field of composite shading with the development of the so-called “Natural Layering Concept”. He coauthored the book Adhesive Metal-Free Restorations, edited in 1997 by Quintessence and translated into seven languages. Dr Dietschi is internationally acclaimed for his theoretical and practical teaching programs focused on adhesive and esthetic restorations with the integration of scientific evidence and implementation of new technologies in the field of minimally invasive esthetic dentistry applied to the restorations of anterior and posterior teeth.
Daniel Edelhoff granted his Certified Dental Technician degree from the Dental technician school in Düsseldorf, Germany. He graduated from Dental School in 1991 and earned his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the University of Aachen, Germany in 1994. He served as Visiting Professor at the Dental Clinical Research Center of the Oregon Health and Sciences University, Portland, Oregon from 1999 to 2001. He granted his Ph.D. in June 2003 at the University of Aachen and is currently Director and Chair at the Department of Prosthodontics and Dental Material Sciences at the Ludwig-Maximilians-University in Munich. Daniel Edelhoff is board certified Specialist in Prosthodontics and holds membership in the German Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine and the German Society Dental Prosthetics and Biomaterial Sciences (DGPro). He is Vice-President of the Association of Dental Technology (ADT), member of the advisory board of the DGPro, Associate Member of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (AAED) and International College of Dentists (ICD), as well as Scientific Chairman of the 8th World Congress of the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry (IFED) 2013 in Munich. Peter Eickholz is Director of the Polyclinic for Periodontology at the Center for Dental, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (Carolinum) at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt am Main. He is a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Clinical Periodontology, sits on the scientific advisory board of the German Dental Journal, and is Editor-in-chief of the journal PARODONTOLOGIE. Vincent Fehmer, MDT, received his dental technical education and degree in Stuttgart, Germany, before completing fellowships in Great Britain and the United States in Oral Design–certified dental technical laboratories. After working several years in such a laboratory in Berlin, he received his MDT degree and became the chief dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed and Removable Prosthodontics in Zurich, Switzerland. Since 2015, he has been a dental technician at the Clinic for Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials in Geneva, Switzerland. He also runs his own laboratory in Lausanne. Mr Fehmer is a Fellow of the International Team for Implantology, an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry (EAED), and a member of the Oral Design group as well as the European Association of Dental Technology (EADT) and the German Society of Esthetic Dentistry (DGÄZ). He is a sought-after international speaker and has received many honors for his work, including the Kenneth Rudd Award from the American Prosthodontic Society. Galip Gürel, DDS, MSc, is the founder and honorary president of the Turkish Academy of Aesthetic Dentistry, a past president of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, and a visiting professor at the New York University, Marseille Dental University, and Istanbul Yeditepe University. He received the 2014 Smigel Prize, which is granted biennially by New York University College of Dentistry to honor the best esthetic dentists in the world. Dr. Arndt Happe graduated from dental school in 1994, having studied at Westfälische Wilhelms University, Münster. Following post-graduate studies with Professor Fouad Khoury and successful specialization in oral surgery, he obtained his doctoral degree in 1996. At that time he had already been active as a speaker and co-author of national and international publications in the field of oral implantology. Since 1999, Dr. Happe has worked as an oral surgeon in private practice in Münster, with a professional focus on both oral implantology (since 2000) and periodontology (since 2004). Prof. Dr. Fouad Khoury received his dental education at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut, Lebanon, and his specialization in Oral Surgery at the Universities of Freiburg and Münster, Germany. He was Assistant Professor at the University of Münster, where he completed his PhD and Scientific Habilitation degree. Since 1994, Prof. Khoury has been Full Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery of the University of Münster, and Director of the Privatzahnklinik Schloss Schellenstein, Olsberg, Germany. For many years, he has been a visiting professor at several universities, the Chairperson of the Examination Committee for Oral Surgery, and a member of the editorial board of many international journals. Prof. Khoury is currently Chairperson of the Oral and Jaw Surgery Society (AGOKI) of the German Association for Dentistry, Oral and Maxillofacial Medicine (DGZMK), and Associate Editor of the International Journal of Oral Implantology. He has received several awards (eg, the Pioneers in Dentistry award 2016 AUB, and the William R. Laney Award of the American Academy of Osseointegration 2017) and holds many patents. Prof. Khoury is the author and editor of four bestseller textbooks that have been translated into more than 10 languages.
Prof. Dr. R. J. Kohal, born in 1961, studied dentistry at the University of Freiburg, Germany from 1984 to 1989 and received his Dr. med. dent. from the same university in 1991. From 1990 to 1993, he worked as an assistant in the Prosthetic Department of the University Dental Clinic in Freiburg. From 1993 to 1995, he was a visiting assistant professor at the University of Texas in Houston, USA. Since 1995, he has been a senior physician at the Department of Dental Prosthetics at Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany, and a clinical assistant professor at the University of Texas in Houston, USA. Doctor Stefen Koubi graduated from the University of Marseille, France, in 1998. He has held the position of Associate Professor in the Restorative Department of Marseille University since 2008 and received his PhD in 2011. He maintains a private practice in Marseille and in Paris. His main areas of interest are esthetic rehabilitation for cosmetic or functional reasons (worn dentition). He has been invited to many prestigious esthetic academies to lecture on simple ways to achieve high-quality esthetic dentistry. He is an invited professor in many esthetic postgraduate programs. Dr Koubi received the Gold Molar title from the students of his university (best teacher of the year) in 2012, and the title of Best French Speaker the same year. Since 2012 he has been a member of Style Italiano community in charge of indirect topics. Nevins, DMD, MMSc, is assistant clinical professor of oral medicine, infection, and immunity at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine and editor-in-chief of The International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology and a fellow of the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Shanon divides his time between specialist practice in central London, and teaching in the Endodontic Postgraduate Unit at King's College London. His primary research interests include the factors influencing tooth survival, management of root resorption, dental trauma, and the applications of CBCT in Endodontics. He has supervised over 35 Masters and PhD students. His expertise in endodontic imaging led to him being the lead author of the European Society of Endodontology's position statement on CBCT in Endodontics. Shanon is regularly invited to lecture nationally and internationally on a variety of endodontic themes. He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals, (co-)authored 15 book chapters, and co-edited three endodontic textbooks.
Dr. Domenico Ricucci received his degree in General Medicine from "La Sapienza" University of Rome in 1982, and his DDS from the same University in 1985. Since then on he has maintained private dental practices limited to endodontics. He served in the Research Committee of the European Society of Endodontology from 1999 to 2005. Since 1998 he has run his own histology laboratory and his primary research interest relates to pulpal and periapical tissue reactions to caries and treatment procedures, biofilms in endodontic infections, etiology of RTC treatment failure, pulp regeneration / revascularization. Dr Ricucci has published 112 papers and has lectured both nationally and internationally. He has authored the Textbook and Atlas "Patologia e Clinica Endodontica", the textbook and atlas "Endodontology. An integrated biological and clinical view", also translated into Chinese, Russian, Japanese. He has also authored or co-authored 22 book chapters.
Irena Sailer, Prof Dr med dent, is chair of the Division of Fixed Prosthodontics and Biomaterials at the University of Geneva and adjunct associate professor in the Department of Preventive and Restorative Sciences at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. In 2019, she received an Honorary Skou Professorship of digital dental technologies, fixed and implant prosthodontics, and biomaterials at Aarhus University, Denmark. Dr Sailer is editor-in-chief of The International Journal of Prosthodontics and coauthor of over 150 peer-reviewed publications as well as the books Fixed Restorations: A Clinical Guide to the Selection of Materials and Fabrication Technology (Quintessence, 2021) and Color in Dentistry (2017). She holds several patents on esthetic coatings of dental/medical devices and a digital dental splint.
Frank Schwarz is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery and Implantology at the Centre for Dentistry and Oral Medicine (Carolinum), Johann Wolfgang Goethe-University Frankfurt, Germany. He serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Clinical Periodontology and Editorial Board Member for Periodontology 2000, Clinical Oral Implants Research and Clinical Implant Dentistry and Related Research. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of the European Association for Osseointegration – EAO, Executive Board Member of the Osteology Foundation, and Past President of the German Association of Oral Implantology (DGI). Anton Sculean is Professor and Chairman of the Department of Periodontology and currently the Head of the Dental Research Center (DRC) of the School of Dental Medicine, University of Bern, Switzerland. Bernd Stadlinger studied medicine and dentistry at the universities of Erlangen, Vienna, and Dresden from 1996 to 2006. He trained as a specialist in oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University Hospital Dresden and habilitated in 2011 with the topic “Functional biomaterials to influence maxillofacial bone healing.” In July 2011, he became senior physician in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery – Clinic for Oral Surgery at the University of Zurich. After his rehabilitation at the University of Zurich, he became a specialist in oral surgery in 2013, and has been Head Physician and Head of Dento-Maxillofacial Radiology since December 2015. Bernd Stadlinger is a board member of the Swiss Society for Oral Surgery and Stomatology (SSOS) and the Swiss Association for Maxillofacial Surgery and Oral Diseases (SAKM). The focus of his scientific work is the interaction between biomaterials and bone, in particular the coating of implants with different organic components to accelerate peri-implant bone healing. Dr. Suzuki practices Periodontics in Tokyo, Japan, and is currently recognized as an international leader in the field of periodontal microsurgery (surgery performed using a microscope). Dr. Masana Suzuki received his DDS from Nippon University, Matsudo campus, School of Dentistry, in 1984. Since 1989, he has maintained a full-time private practice in Tokyo, Japan. He is an active member of the Japanese Society of Periodontology, the Japanese Academy of Clinical Periodontology, the AMED (Academy of Microscope Enhanced Dentistry), the Advisor of the Society of Japan Clinical Dentistry (SJCD) Tokyo, and one of the well-known clinicians and lecturers in the field of Periodontal Microsurgery.
Hiroyuki Takino, DDS, is visiting professor of periodontology at Asahi University School of Dentistry, associate professor at Tokyo Medical and Dental University, and associate professor at Osaka University Graduate School of Dentistry. He is also director of the Japan Institute for Advanced Dental Studies and chairman of Osseointegration Study Club of Japan. Dr Takino is a member of several national and international organizations and director of the Takino Dental Clinic in Kyoto, Japan.
Dr. Tsukiboshi is a graduate of Osaka University School of Dentistry in 1977. He earned a PhD in dental materials from Kyoto University in 1981 and has been engaged in private practice since 1981. Dr. Tsukiboshi's interest in dental traumatology and autotransplantation has led to extensive clinical involvement, course presentations and publications. Dr. Tsukiboshi has lectured extensively on dental trauma and autotransplantation; he has authored many articles and two textbooks, one on dental trauma in 1998 and one on autotransplantation in 2000. The books have been published in several languages, including English. Dr. Tsukiboshi is is the President of the International Association of Dental Traumatology in 2009 and 2010. Dr. Tsukiboshi is certified as a clinical professor of the dental school of Tohoku University in 2015 to 2018.
Istvan Urban, DMD, MD, PhD, teaches implant dentistry in the graduate program at Loma Linda University in California and is also an adjunct clinical associate professor in the Department of Periodontology and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan. He has published widely on bone regeneration and soft tissue reconstructive surgery around dental implants and is the author of the textbooks Vertical and Horizontal Ridge Augmentation: New Perspectives (Quintessence, 2017) and Vertical 2: The Next Level of Hard and Soft Tissue Augmentation (2022). Dr Urban is licensed in the state of California and maintains a private practice in Budapest, Hungary.
Dr Van Dooren attended the Katholieke University in Leuven, Belgium, where he received his degree in dentistry in 1982. After graduation, he opened a private practice in periodontics, fixed prosthodontics, and implants in Antwerp, Belgium. He is an active member of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry. Bart Van Meerbeek obtained his DDS (1988) and PhD (1993) at KU Leuven. In 2005, he became Full Professor and teaches Biomaterial Sciences since 1995. His primary research interest involves studies related to the adhesion of restorative materials to tooth tissue and more recently also on dental zirconia, remineralization and pulp-capping. He is head of the BIOMAT research group at KU Leuven. His research work has been published in more than 400 international peer-reviewed journals and has been honoured with awards such as the Award in Biomedical Sciences of the Research Council of KU Leuven (1998), IADR Young Research Award (2000), 2014 IADR/AADR William J. Gies Award and IADR Wilmer Souder Award (2015). In 2003, he became holder of the Toshio Nakao Chair for Adhesive Dentistry. He was President of the Pan-European Federation of IADR (2006-2007) and is currently serving as Secretary/Treasurer of CED-IADR. Since 2004, he is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Adhesive Dentistry.

Since 1988, Siegbert Witkowskihas been working as Chief Dental Technician in the Department of Prosthodontics, University Hospital of Freiburg, School of Dentistry (Chair: Prof. Dr. B. He received his dental degree from the Faculty of Dentistry at Semmelweis University, Budapest (Hungary). Upon his graduation, Maciej pursued a Doctor of Medical Sciences title, obtained after pass with honors for his dissertation defense on composite inlays-onlays in the restoration of endodontically treated teeth. Maciej has been a long-time researcher and lecturer, working with dental students at the Department of Propedeutics of Conservative Dentistry of CMUJ, Krakow. During his International Association of Dental Research scholarship, he conducted research work on adhesive bridges (FDPs) as well as the restoration of endodontically treated teeth at the universities of Leeds and Manchester. He has been a visiting professor at the University of Chieti (Italy), and visiting lecturer the UIC University (Barcelona). In 2021 he became a mentor at the prestigious Kois Center in Seattle. In 1999 Maciej established his private practice “Dentist” in Krakow and maintains it with his energetic attitude and everlasting passion.
